2013 The Year of AWESOME!

Keeping that March is National Craft Month, here's another DIY project for you. Back in January, it was time to make resolutions for the new year, but I thought it should also be a time to reflect on the past year...Thinking back, I knew there were so many great things that happened to us, but I knew there were many things that I had forgotten. Since I'm a list-maker, this year I decided to document it...Make a list in a way— of the great stuff that has been happening in 2013 so far...Hence the name of this blog post "2013 The Year of AWESOME!" :D

I figured we could jot down the great things that have happened to us in 2013, and on New Years Day of 2014, we could look back and be thankful/grateful when setting our new resolutions (goals, plans, etc.)...Maybe you can make a list too...It's not to late to start ;)

Here's what you need to make your own "awesome" jar:

  • An Empty Jar
  • Pen
  • Paper
  • Label
  • Full Sheet of Label Paper
  • Printer
The empty jar I used is from my Bath & Body Works 3 wick candle. I placed it in the freezer after my candle burned as far as it could go. After the extra wax was frozen for a while, I picked at it until it came out with a knife (which was actually easier than I thought), then I cleaned out my empty jar with very hot water and soap. Make sure to take off the previous labels that come with the jar. If you don't have a jar like the one I used, you could also use a pickle jar too, just clean it thoroughly to get the pickle smell out (which may be tough), then print the "awesome" label on your label paper and stick the label to your jar (You can download the label I used HERE). Write each "awesome" thing that happens in 2013, place it in the jar, then New years Day of January 2014, when making your new goals, go back and re-read your items from the past year. Happy crafting, and continue to make 2013 awesome! :)

PS - These jars can also be used for other types of storage, when cleaned thoroughly, they look pretty nice.
