Muir Woods National Monument

We got back January 1st from our trip to San Francisco, CA. It was the first time we've ever been to NoCal, and one of our first stops was to Muir Woods in Mill Valley, CA. Muir Woods is home to the Redwoods, beautiful tall massive red trees, it was gorgeous.

When we went, our family friends went with us, and they said that although the large creek was flowing with freezing waters (and salmon), during the summer months, it's totally dry.

I love all the beautiful colors and textures the forest had.

When walking the trails, it was dark in the valley, but once returning back towards Saucelito Canyon, it was bright and sunny. If you notice towards the top of the Redwoods, it was much brighter.

John Muir, a naturalist which the woods are named after, once said, "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."

More photos from our San Francisco trip coming soon.
