Office

We purchased our home in January of this year, and have slowly been doing some painting and decorating. I think the 2nd room we began to work on was the home office. We were both pretty excited to finally have one, because in our apartment(s), our office always seemed to take over the living room, the bedroom, and sometimes both. So it's nice to have a space that is strictly dedicated to having an area where we can work and be creative.

When I was looking at paint colors, I couldn't decide, so I told Carlos to make the decision. He went with orange. ORANGE! I have to admit, I was somewhat hesitant to paint an ENTIRE room orange, but, it was his call. Then one day, I came home from work, and he had already painted the room completely, and I loved it!

For those wondering "Why is their iMac on the ground?", we actually use a flat screen TV that doubles as our monitor, and to save room, we moved the iMac down, slightly ghetto you say? Maybe. But it works for us :D

Back to the orange---I later read, that the color orange actually stimulates creativity (like red stimulates hunger, and blue stimulates calmness and tranquility), so it worked out perfectly :) Below are some shots of my pop art by Andy Warhol, one of my favorite artists and art movements.

In the shadow box below, there's a graffiti portrait of Andy Warhol created by local artist, Amber Campagna.

The framed portrait at the bottom I bought off of a Ukrainian street vendor at Rockefeller Center in NYC. It's a replica of "Lunchtime atop a Skyscraper", by Charles C. Ebbets...One of my favorite photographs ever.

If you watch The Office, you'll totally get the coffee cup with Carlos' face on it that he had made.

I love that the room is large enough to have a desk area for our iMac/TV on one side and Carlos' musical instruments on the other.

My Mars Volta posters finally have a perfect home now...[I won the first one in a contest. I never win anything! :) ]
